Security is paramount. Customers can select between dedicated suites and cages or co-located cabinets within HIC modules. Suites and cages are secured by proximity card access control, and individual cabinets are secured by keys held by the Options Operations department, subject to access control procedures. Access to the clean room areas in which suites, cages and cabinets are located is controlled by both proximity card and biometric controls, ensuring that only authorised personnel have access to secure areas and single-factor security risks are eliminated.
Visitors to Options West London data centre compound must clear turnstile security before approaching the internal security reception. Clean room areas are located with physically secure zones inside the outer building structure and the compound is protected by high fences and anti-climb, and internal and external areas are monitored by motion-sensing, recorded megapixel IP CCTV. In addition, the data centre is located within an anonymous facility without exterior branding or other obvious data centre cues.
